Generate pdf report with Images in CRM On Demand

Hi,

I had a requirement where the client had to display their company Image on pdf when the report was downloaded, the Image I was referencing was on their Company Portal. unfortunately the pdf file wouldn't pick this image, it worked only for HTML downloads.


Here is how you do it!

You can get Images from websites into your pdf file, but this will include two extra clicks...

Go to any report, click the “Printer Friendly” option, and select HTML.


  





An HTML webpage will be generated for that report, now in that web page in the Menu bar, go to File and select Print…













 









The below popup screen will be displayed, select “Adobe PDF” and click Print.

























After you click Print you will have to save the Report, the save as type is automatically set to PDF, enter the Name . 

 













And your pdf is generated will the Company logo.

The best thing while working on siebel is you are never short of options. Recently we had requirement of updating a Service request from contact. Finally we did that using "EAI Siebel Adapter" business service. However during that time i came across another business service "FINS Data Transfer Utilities" popularly known as DTU business service. As i was not having prior knowledge of it going by the rule of not learning swimming lessons while drowning i decided not to go for it. Lately i have tried to explore this service and trust me it can do wonders. Here is a sample example update of Service Request from contact. Profile Attributes and Open UI

Yes, Profile Attributes! As the ever attentive, up-to-date Siebel CRM expert that you are when you read this, you know that in Siebel Open UI (since version 15), it is no longer allowed/supported to  set  Profile Attributes from browser-side script. But  getting  them is not a problem, since the  GetProfileAttr  function works perfectly fine.
